Mark Deeks

Mark has spent the majority of his career working as a music lecturer and piano teacher, and for the last 8 years as course leader in an FE college. Mark also works as an arranger for choirs and orchestras, and material has been performed by the Northern Sinfonia and Opera North, as well arrangements of tracks by Sonata Arctica at The Sage, Gateshead for an orchestra and 300 piece choir. Mark has also composed music for short films, a comedy musical by BBC comedian Alfie Joey, and Euro Disney.

Mark has played piano for over 29 years, and has taught pupils of all ages since 1994. He has performed at a wide range of major venues throughout the UK with a variety of different bands and projects. Mark released the debut solo album 'Safesake' in 2010, and has also been known to turn his hand to singing, playing guitar and viola when he's not tinkling the ivories.

Sion Littledyke

The author of Coda Tuition's teaching syllabus is Sion Littledyke, a 1st class graduate of Leeds University (music), with 15 years tuition experience. He has a successful private teaching practice (guitar and bass), and regularly delivers the Rockschool and RGT syllabi up to grade 8, and has also worked for Leeds, Leicester, Kirkless and Wakefield music services.

Sion has also worked for Access to Music at centres in Hull, Bridlington and Leicester, during which time set up a pre-foundation course aimed at encouraging failing students back into education. Sion also provides GCSE, A level and BTEC support, with several students having progressed onto HE courses at Leeds College of Music and the universities of Leeds and Huddersfield.

Sion is also the founder of Coda Productions, a composition and production company with broadcast credits. He has completed commissions in a range of areas including: TV title credits, film, documentary and animation scores, dance theatre, corporate projects and library music.

Sion regularly performs nationally with several bands on guitar and bass, and gigs have included Download, Guilfest and Mathew St Festivals as well as tours in France and Germany.
